Calhoun City Schools is pleased to announce several leadership transitions for the 2026–2027 school year, reflecting the district’s continued focus on strong instructional leadership, strategic growth, and student success across all grade levels.

Hope Stephenson

Hope Stephenson Named Chief Academic Officer

Hope Stephenson has been named Chief Academic Officer for Calhoun City Schools. Stephenson has served as principal of Calhoun Elementary School since 2024 and brings more than 13 years of experience as an assistant principal at the elementary, middle, and high school levels.

Her leadership has centered on instruction, curriculum, and school improvement, resulting in significant academic growth at each school she has served. Stephenson holds degrees from Shorter College, Piedmont College, and Lincoln Memorial University, along with multiple leadership and instructional certifications. She is a member of the 2024 Calhoun-Gordon County Chamber Leadership cohort and is excited to support teaching and learning at the district level in her new role.


Casey Parker

Casey Parker to Lead Calhoun Elementary, Continuing as Community Education Director

Casey Parker will transition to Principal of Calhoun Elementary School while continuing to serve as Community Education Director. Parker currently serves as Director of Academics and has supported Calhoun City Schools for more than 25 years in roles spanning teacher, interventionist, assistant principal, principal, and district leadership.

A 2011 System Teacher of the Year and Chamber Leadership graduate, Parker brings extensive P–12 experience and a strong focus on instructional leadership, strategic planning, and relationship-building. She shared her excitement to return to the school-based principal role, supporting students, teachers, and families directly.


Tiffany WatsonTiffany Watson Named Principal of Calhoun Primary School

Tiffany Watson has been named principal of Calhoun Primary School. A Calhoun High School graduate, Watson has dedicated more than 26 years to Calhoun City Schools, including nine years as an administrator at the primary, elementary, and high school levels.

She holds degrees from the State University of West Georgia and Lincoln Memorial University, along with endorsements in Gifted Education, ESOL, and Math. Watson shared that returning to the primary school level has long been a goal, fueled by her passion for supporting young learners and empowering teachers.


Shelly HoodShelly Hood Named Assistant Principal at Calhoun Primary School

Shelly Hood has been named Assistant Principal at Calhoun Primary School. Hood began her career with the district in 1995 and brings nearly three decades of experience in Pre-K through third grade, ESOL instruction, and teacher leadership.

She holds Tier II Leadership certification and multiple endorsements and has participated in leadership development programs including CLASS and the district’s inaugural LEAP cohort. Her deep experience in primary education positions her well to support students, staff, and instructional growth.


Megan Woodman

Megan Woodman Named Instructional Coach at Calhoun Middle / High School

Megan Woodman will join the academic support team as an Instructional Coach at Calhoun Middle and High School. Woodman has served the district for 12 years, teaching mathematics at multiple levels and leading curriculum and professional learning initiatives.

A former System Teacher of the Year (2024–2025), she is recognized for her instructional expertise, leadership, and commitment to student success and educator growth.

These leadership transitions reflect Calhoun City Schools’ commitment to developing strong leaders who support instructional excellence and serve the evolving needs of students, staff, and families.
