Calhoun, GA — Calhoun High School senior Hudson Gable was celebrated during a special book dedication after bringing his story to life through the publication of his novel, Cedaria: Shattered Shackles, now part of the CHS College & Career Media Center collection.
Gable, the school’s first published student author, was joined by staff, family, and friends for a book dedication and signing event recognizing his achievement.
Beyond writing the novel, Gable brought his vision to life through multiple creative elements, including designing the book’s front cover, creating original artwork featured on character bookmarks, and curating playlists to represent individual characters throughout the story.
In addition to his work as an author, Gable has earned top honors through CHS’s literary team, placing 1st in Region Literary for Personal Essay and contributing to a Region Championship, followed by a 2nd place finish at the state competition, where Calhoun High School was named the overall 2026 AAA Literary State Champions, exemplifying the Black and Gold Standard of Excellence in the arts.
His novel will now be part of the media center collection, offering inspiration to fellow students interested in writing, art, and storytelling.
“Hudson’s work reflects an exceptional level of creativity, dedication, and talent,” said CHS Principal Dr. Allison Eubanks. “We are proud to celebrate his accomplishments and look forward to all that he will achieve in the future.”
