Calhoun High School’s Commencement Ceremony for the Class of 2026 remains scheduled for Friday, May 22, at 8:00 PM on Hal Lamb Field at Phil Reeve Stadium.
Calhoun City Schools will continue to closely monitor the potential for inclement weather and will communicate any updates or schedule changes as needed.
As part of our planning process, CHS seniors were asked what they preferred if the weather became a factor. Every member of the Class of 2026 shared that they would prefer a traditional outdoor graduation if conditions safely allow. While we hope to honor that wish, safety will always guide any final decisions regarding the ceremony.
At this time, commencement is planned to proceed outdoors on the football field as scheduled. Families and guests are encouraged to prepare for a possible rain-or-shine event.
If unsafe conditions arise, including lightning or periods of heavy rainfall, and depending on the forecast timeline, the ceremony could move indoors to the CHS Gymnasium. If moved indoors, attendance inside the gymnasium will be limited to guests with designated Inclement Weather Tickets.
Regardless of the weather, family members and guests may view the ceremony from the Calhoun Performing Arts Center (CPAC), where a live stream will be available. The ceremony will also stream live and remain available for replay through the NFHS Network. Viewers may be asked to create a free account to access the livestream at NFHS Network / Calhoun High School > Graduation. https://www.nfhsnetwork.com/schools/calhoun-high-school-calhoun-ga/graduation
Depending on the timing of inclement weather and the Saturday morning forecast, another option would be to postpone the ceremony to Saturday, May 23, at 9:00 AM on Hal Lamb Field.
Guests are encouraged to bring ponchos or rain jackets if needed. Please note that umbrellas will not be permitted inside the stadium in order to help maintain visibility for all guests.
Additional updates will be shared through official Calhoun City Schools communication channels, including the CCS App, website, social media pages, and mass notifications.
Thank you for your flexibility and support as we celebrate the CHS Class of 2026 and this special milestone for our seniors and families.
