CALHOUN, GA — September 30, 2026 — Calhoun City Schools is proud to announce that Calhoun High School’s Class of 2026 achieved a 98.8% four-year graduation rate, continuing a longstanding tradition of academic excellence and student success.
Calhoun High School’s graduation rate exceeds Georgia’s 2026 statewide rate of 88.5% by 10.3 percentage points. The state rate increased from 87.2% in 2025 and marks an all-time high since Georgia began using the federally required adjusted cohort calculation in 2011. This year, 147 Georgia school districts achieved graduation rates of 90% or higher, with 69 reaching 95% or higher.
“We are incredibly proud of the Class of 2026 and all they have accomplished,” said Dr. Michele Taylor, Superintendent of Calhoun City Schools. “This achievement reflects the hard work and determination of our students, along with the commitment of our teachers, counselors, administrators, staff, families, and community who support them throughout their Jacket journey.”
Calhoun High School continues to prepare students for life beyond graduation through rigorous academics, Advanced Placement and dual enrollment opportunities, Career, Technical, and Agricultural Education (CTAE) pathways, fine arts, athletics, work-based learning, and targeted student support.
As graduation rates continue to rise across Georgia, Calhoun City Schools remains committed to ensuring every student has the opportunities, support, and preparation needed to graduate ready for college, career, and life.
