Today, CHS seniors explored their next steps at the annual Probe College Fair at Georgia Highlands College, where more than 70 technical colleges, two-year colleges, and four-year universities were represented.
Students had the opportunity to explore academic programs and potential majors, talk with admissions counselors, learn about admissions requirements, and discover scholarship opportunities. This event is the first of several college and career opportunities available to the Class of 2027.
CHS 12th-grade counselor Kendra Arnold, along with counselors Elaine Hite and Ashley Wood, encourage students to stay informed by regularly checking the CHS College & Career Events Calendar for upcoming opportunities.

A 2012 graduate of Calhoun High School, Corporal Kirby brings six years of law enforcement experience and is proud to serve the community that helped shape him. He and his wife, Coach Allie Kirby, a CHS teacher and Head Lady Jackets Softball Coach, are proud parents to 1-year-old Koen, who attends CELA's Junior Jacket Academy.
When asked what it means to return home, Alex shared:
"It means a lot to serve the community that gave me so much growing up. Coming back to Calhoun City Schools as an SRO is a full-circle moment."
As a proud member of Calhoun's 2011 State Championship football team, Alex says you'll probably hear about that accomplishment at least once. More importantly, he wants every student to know his door is always open if they need help, advice, or just someone to talk to.
