The Lutzie 43 Safe Driving Summit is coming to Calhoun High School this Friday. Students will hear from Mike Lutzenkirchen, learn about the 43 Key Seconds initiative, and take part in hands-on sessions led by trauma teams, first responders, and trucking professionals.
With holiday travel coming up, this is a timely reminder to slow down, stay alert, and make smart choices behind the wheel. We’re grateful to partner with the Lutzie 43 Foundation and appreciate all the agencies helping bring this important experience to our students.

Before tonight’s game, we proudly recognized the 1995 State Champion Competition Cheerleading team, led by Coach Patti Gilmer.
This group helped build the foundation of Calhoun’s Competition Cheer program—bringing home a State Championship just one year after a state runner-up finish. Today, Calhoun holds 7 state titles, the most of any sport at CHS.
Thank you ladies for coming home to celebrate this milestone. Once a Jacket, always a Jacket! 🐝

Recently, Talent Connect seniors from Calhoun, Gordon Central, and Sonoraville High visited the Junior Achievement Discovery Center in Dalton to explore JA BizTown and Finance Park, gaining hands-on experience with budgeting, business operations, and financial decision-making.
This year’s Talent Connect cohort includes 30+ seniors across Calhoun and Gordon County Schools who are building employability skills and career insights for the future, preparing to become the next generation of community and workforce leaders.
