Congratulations to Gracison Saylors, CHS senior and University of Kentucky volleyball commit, on being named the AAA All-State Player of the Year by the Georgia Volleyball Coaches Association! After earning Co-Player of the Year honors last season and helping lead the team to a State Runner-Up finish in 2024 and a Final Four appearance in 2025, Gracison leaves an unforgettable mark on Calhoun Volleyball.
A big shoutout as well to Chloe Edens (‘26) and Cate Rutland (‘27), for being named to the AAA All-State Team. An incredible finish to a standout season for these Lady Jackets! #GoJackets
🇺🇸 The countdown is on to our 2nd Annual Veterans Day Parade! Join Calhoun City Schools and our community as we honor the brave men and women who have served our country.
Festivities will begin in the park at 12:45 PM with performances from our school chorus groups and more, followed by the parade through Downtown Calhoun at 1:30 PM.
This year, our student groups are proudly honoring local veterans — inviting them to ride alongside students or join the parade in their own vehicles.

This year’s theme, “Life is a Puzzle, Solve It Drug Free,” inspires us to make positive choices that build a brighter future.
The annual Art Poster Contest features the winning artwork on display and a family reception at the Harris Arts Center — celebrated by the Gordon County Chamber of Commerce and Mannington Mills, kicking off a week of community-wide events promoting a drug-free future.
We look forward to next week’s Red Ribbon Week dress-up days as we celebrate making healthy, drug-free choices together!

In recognition of Fire Safety Month, they shared Pete the Fire Cat and invited special guests from the Calhoun Fire Department. Toddlers met local firefighters, explored the fire truck, and took home fire hats, while our students led a hands-on graham cracker fire truck activity.
