Congratulations to Erjon Prenku and Ayden Herod on being selected to the 2024 District VII Honor Band to represent Calhoun Middle School! These talented 8th-grade students are members of the CMS Symphonic Band, led by Director Thomas Osborne. Erjon plays the Clarinet, and Ayden plays the Bari Saxophone. After a challenging selection process in December, their impressive musical talent earned them a spot in the District's Advanced Middle School Band Ensemble. They will represent CMS at the prestigious event, which brings together the most talented middle school musicians from Northwest Georgia. Participating in the District VII Honor Band is a remarkable achievement that requires dedication and skill. Calhoun City Schools congratulates Erjon and Ayden for their impressive accomplishment in showcasing excellence in the arts! The middle school group's concert for the District Honor Band will take place at Ringgold High School on Saturday, February 10, 2023, at 1:00 P.M. #CCSHeroes #ExcellenceInTheArts 🐝🎵🎶

Calhoun City Schools will operate on a 2-hour delay, today, January 9, 2024. We want to ensure the safety of our students, staff, and community members, and we encourage you to exercise caution when traveling. Please adjust your child's drop-off time by adding two hours to their regular schedule. Additionally, buses will run two hours behind their usual route times. We encourage parents, staff and our young drivers to exercise extreme caution on our roads. Again, students and staff should arrive two hours later than they would on a regular school day. Busses will operate on a two-hour delay.

UPDATE (1:50 pm): Calhoun Middle and High School are no longer in lockdown. The lockdown was initiated due to a threatening post on social media. The post was found to be dated from years prior; however, in an abundance of caution, local law enforcement searched areas of the facility and students were held in lockdown. Thank you to everyone for your support as we work to guarantee the safety of our children.
