Calhoun Early Learning Academy is proud to announce Mrs. Judith Ralston as the 2026-2027 Teacher of the Year.
Mrs. Judith is currently in her 29th year in education and has served students across multiple grade levels, including Kindergarten, 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades. For the past 18 years, she has been a beloved Pre-K teacher at Calhoun Early Learning Academy, where she leads the Lime Lizards classroom with dedication, passion, and care.
She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education from Berry College, a Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education from the University of West Georgia, and an Educational Specialist degree from Piedmont College.
A lifelong Calhoun resident, Mrs. Judith is married to Donnie Ralston. Together, they have two children, Emma and Jess, and one grandchild, Arnie.
Colleagues describe Mrs. Judith as a mentor, a leader, and a constant source of encouragement for both students and staff. She creates a classroom environment where students feel supported, challenged, and inspired to believe in themselves. Her ability to turn “I can’t” into “I just did” has made a lasting impact on countless students throughout her career.

Calhoun Early Learning Academy is proud to announce Mrs. Cecilia Carson as the 2026-2027 Staff Member of the Year.
Mrs. Cecilia is currently in her third year at Calhoun Early Learning Academy and brings more than 30 years of experience working with children of all ages. Throughout her career, she has served as a Pre-K director, daycare owner and operator, and educator for children ranging from six weeks old through age 12 while also building strong relationships with families.
Mrs. Cecilia is married to Calhoun City Police Department Interim Chief Ken Carson, and together they have three dogs: Jack, Sadie Pearl, and Zeus.
Colleagues describe Mrs. Cecilia as a compassionate leader who sets high expectations while providing students with the support and encouragement needed to succeed. She is known for building strong relationships with students, families, and coworkers while approaching every situation with honesty, care, and professionalism. Her dedication, work ethic, and willingness to give her all in every task make a lasting impact throughout the CELA community.
