Yesterday, our Jacket Jamboree campers helped kick off United Way of Gordon County's new summer program, United We Read, a literacy initiative that brings books, resources, and engaging learning experiences to families.
Campers enjoyed ice cream, story time, hands-on activities, a fire truck tour, and even selected a book to take home, along with other fun treats to keep the learning going all summer long.
Thank you to United Way and community partners for introducing this new program and supporting literacy throughout the summer!

Calhoun City Schools' Summer Feeding Program begins next Monday, June 1, and runs through July 23, providing free meals for children Monday–Friday from 11:00 a.m.–1:00 p.m. at multiple locations throughout our community.
Families may also participate in two 7-Day Meal Box Distributions at Calhoun Elementary School (rear parking lot) on June 26 and July 23 from 12:00–3:00 p.m. Distribution is drive-thru style and available on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last.
Meal delivery routes will continue throughout the community with stops marked by yard signs. Please note the program will be closed June 29–July 3.
