FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Date: March 15, 2026
Due to a severe weather system moving through the area overnight and into the early morning hours, Calhoun City Schools will operate on a two-hour delay tomorrow, Monday, March 16, 2026.
The safety of our students, staff, and community is our top priority. The current forecast for Calhoun indicates the potential for severe weather, and we want to ensure road conditions are safe for travel.
What this means for families:
• Drop-off Times: Please adjust your child’s regular drop-off time by adding two hours. For example, if you normally drop your child off at 7:30 AM, the new time will be 9:30 AM.
• Bus Routes: Buses will run exactly two hours behind their normal schedule. If the bus usually arrives at 6:30 AM, expect it at 8:30 AM.
• School Start: All school start times are delayed by two hours from their normal schedule.
We will continue to monitor the situation closely alongside local emergency management. Should conditions require further changes, updates will be posted on our official website and social media channels.
Stay safe, and we look forward to seeing our Yellow Jackets tomorrow morning!
Go Jackets!

As we celebrate our Exemplary Board of Education this week, we’re also proud to recognize Superintendent Dr. Michele Taylor, a proud Calhoun High School graduate serving her 19th year leading Calhoun City Schools. Thank you for your leadership and dedication to our students, staff, and the Calhoun community! #OurHeartOurFuture
