Calhoun Swim Teams Earn National Recognition🏆
Led by Coach Charles Todd, the 2024–25 Calhoun High School swim teams were recently honored by the National Interscholastic Swimming Coaches Association of America (NISCA) as two of the nation’s best! The Boys’ team ranked 12th, and the Girls’ team ranked 9th in the nation. Proud of our Jackets for making a national splash! 🐝 #GoJackets

Congrats to CHS Cheer senior, Libby Brannon, on recently being named to the 2025 Georgia Cheerleading Coaches Association (GCCA) All-State Team for A–AAA classifications! She’s one of only FOUR Calhoun cheerleaders ever to earn this honor. Libby will be recognized at the State Championship in November and awarded a scholarship! 🐝📣 #GoJackets

CHS 2025 graduates LaVaunte Brock and Ja’Nya Montgomery were recently awarded the Charlie R. Morrison Scholarship | This scholarship honors the legacy of Charlie R. Morrison, a retired educator who deeply believed in the power and promise of a good education. A highlight of both students’ applications was their response to the question, “Where do you see yourself in 10 years?”
LaVaunte shared his vision of serving others in the nursing and medical field, while Ja’Nya expressed her passion for inspiring young minds as an elementary school teacher. Their inspiring dreams in education and healthcare truly reflect the heart of this legacy.
The scholarship was presented by members of the Rome Lodge #79 Prince Hall Masons of Rome, GA. Pictured are LaVaunte and Ja’Nya alongside members of Lodge #79, their families, and CHS Assistant Principal, Misty Lewis.
