Last Friday, our Sources of Strength group teamed up with the North Georgia Southern Tennessee Alliance of Therapy Dogs to bring some furry friends to the middle & high school campus. It was all about wellness and spreading smiles during lunchtime!

Congratulations to Calhoun High School senior Kenya Perez for being accepted to the 2024 All-State Art Symposium. Her "Mixing Contentment" artwork was selected as a District Finalist and will be displayed at the Columbus State University's Corn Center for the Visual Arts from February 26 to March 2. All artwork selected as District Finalists will be eligible for consideration by the state judge to become State Winners. Way to go, Kenya! #ExcellenceInTheArts

Mayor Jimmy Palmer swore in two members of the Calhoun City School Board at the Calhoun City Council Meeting on Monday, January 8, 2024.
Eddie Reeves, Calhoun City School Board Post 4, and Becky Gilbert-George, Calhoun City School Board Post 5 were sworn in after winning their seats, unopposed, during the Municipal General Election.
We appreciate the dedicated service of both Eddie Reeves and Becky Gilbert-George and are thankful for their many contributions to our schools and the Calhoun community.
Calhoun City Schools will operate on a 2-hour delay, today, January 9, 2024. We want to ensure the safety of our students, staff, and community members, and we encourage you to exercise caution when traveling. Please adjust your child's drop-off time by adding two hours to their regular schedule. Additionally, buses will run two hours behind their usual route times.
We encourage parents, staff and our young drivers to exercise extreme caution on our roads. Again, students and staff should arrive two hours later than they would on a regular school day. Buses will operate on a two-hour delay.
UPDATE (1:50 pm): Calhoun Middle and High School are no longer in lockdown. The lockdown was initiated due to a threatening post on social media. The post was found to be dated from years prior; however, in an abundance of caution, local law enforcement searched areas of the facility and students were held in lockdown. Thank you to everyone for your support as we work to guarantee the safety of our children.
The campus of Calhoun Middle and High School is currently under a lockdown while police investigate a concerning social media posting. We will post as soon as the lockdown is lifted.
