NORMAL SCHEDULE – THURSDAY, FEB. 20, 2025 | Calhoun City Schools will operate on a normal schedule Thursday, Feb. 20. Please use caution while driving, as icy conditions may develop on elevated roads.
We understand that parents make the best decisions for their families. If you have concerns about transportation, you may choose to keep your child at home. Students will receive alternative assignments to make up for their absence upon returning.

SCHOOL CLOSED - WEDNESDAY, FEB. 19, 2025 | Due to the latest Winter Weather Advisory from Gordon County EMA, Calhoun City Schools will be CLOSED on Wednesday, February 19, 2025. Snow is expected early in the morning, with additional flurries possible in the afternoon and the potential for black ice Thursday morning.
The safety of our students and staff is our top priority. Based on this forecast, we believe it is best to keep everyone off the roads. All Calhoun City Schools will be closed on Wednesday, February 19, 2025.
We will reassess weather conditions at noon on Wednesday and provide an update on afternoon/evening activities. Stay safe, stay warm, and enjoy your snow day!

Congrats to the CHS boys basketball team for advancing to the REGION CHAMPIONSHIP with an impressive 57-27 victory over LaFayette! The Jackets are set to face Adairsville tomorrow night at 7:30 PM at The HIVE! 🏆🏀
A big shoutout to our Lady Jackets for their tremendous effort tonight. Though they fell short, they’ll be back in action against Gilmer for 3rd place at 3:00 PM.

What an amazing day at the Chick-fil-A Corporate Headquarters in Atlanta! Our CLASS Jr. Leaders had the opportunity to tour Truett Cathy's office, explore the onsite museum, and walk the beautiful campus, all while diving into the history, culture, and values of S. Truett Cathy.
A highlight of the day? Lunch in the expansive dining hall, where everyone enjoyed a delicious variety of options (the ice cream bar was definitely a crowd favorite! 🍦).
It was an incredible experience for the students! They truly represented Calhoun City Schools with excellence! #ProudToBeAYellowJacket
2025 GOVERNOR’S HONORS PROGRAM SEMIFINALISTS
Congratulations to Mandy Chen, Erick Jaramillo, and Stephanie Gallardo-Brito on being selected as semifinalists for the 2025 Governor's Honors Program (GHP)—a prestigious summer program recognizing Georgia’s most talented high school students.
These outstanding Jackets have excelled in their areas of study and will move on to the interview round in March, where they’ll compete for a spot in the four-week summer program at Georgia Southern University.
