Recently, students at Calhoun Elementary School were captivated as guest speaker, Terry Allee, brought history to life, embodying the character impressions of both William T. Sherman and Aslan from The Chronicles of Narnia. With attention to detail, Mr. Alee painted a vivid picture of Sherman's strategies and commanding presence on the battlefield. The next day, Mr. Allee portrayed himself as Aslan, the wise and compassionate lion, from the novel. Through engaging storytelling and interactive dialogue, the speaker left a lasting impression on the students, sparking discussions about leadership, courage, and the complexities of characters. It was an enriching experience for all!

On School Communicators Day, let's celebrate some incredible achievements of our very own Kayla Ralston, Director of School & Community Relations!
In 2023, Kayla was awarded the prestigious Marie Wofford Professional Award by the Georgia School Public Relations Association (GSPRA) for her amazing work in school public relations. This summer Kayla will represent us at the NSPRA 2024 National Seminar in Seattle, where she is one of 27 NSPRA members nominated by their state chapter for the first-ever School Communicator of the Year Award. This national honor recognizes the outstanding leadership and contributions of active, front-line school communicators. Additionally, Kayla has been chosen as the FY25 President-elect for GSPRA.
Let's applaud Kayla’s dedication and exceptional efforts in our educational community! #GoJackets
