Congratulations to Calhoun High School’s Youth of the Month for February, Naomi Dixon!
Naomi is an outstanding student who exemplifies kindness, poise, and respect for others. A true role model, she continually challenges herself in the classroom and beyond. Naomi was a dedicated member of the Lady Jackets volleyball team for four years and currently participates in Work-Based Learning, gaining valuable real-world experience. She truly embodies what it means to be a Calhoun Yellow Jacket.
After graduation, Naomi plans to attend a four-year university and pursue a degree in Early Childhood Education. We’re excited to see the impact she will make in the lives of future learners!

In recognition of American Heart Month, the Calhoun City Schools HR Department (Employee Benefits) partnered with AdventHealth Gordon and College & Career Academy healthcare students to provide on-site heart checks for employees.
On the path to CNA certification, students continue gaining real-world clinical experience. This event offered a meaningful opportunity to conduct supervised blood pressure screenings while supporting staff wellness.

On Saturday, six FCCLA members proudly represented Calhoun High School at the Region 1 Competition, demonstrating confidence, professionalism, and leadership. FCCLA (Family, Career and Community Leaders of America) is a national Career and Technical Student Organization (CTSO) focused on career readiness and leadership development, and these students exemplified those skills throughout the competition. Mrs. Brown’s Early Childhood Education (ECE) II class welcomed Kim Kiker, CCS School Nutrition Director, for a hands-on look at food and nutrition standards. From touring the Campus kitchen to meeting our nutrition staff and sampling new pizza options, students gained an inside look at learning beyond the classroom.
