RED RIBBON WEEK 2024 | This year's Red Ribbon Week theme is "Life is a Movie. Film Drug-Free!" We are excited to celebrate our talented 2024 poster winners from the "Drugs Don't Work" Art Contest, who were recently honored at the Harris Arts Center. 2024 CCS school-level poster winners are: McKenzie Walraven (CPS), Yuliza Vicente (CES), Abby Anderson (CMS), & Erick Jaramillo (CHS) A special shoutout to CHS winner, Erick Jaramillo, whose talent caught the attention of Mannington's HR Manager, Erika Turner. She shared some exciting summer internship opportunities that are perfect for Erick's future in art! Thank you, Gordon County Chamber of Commerce, for organizing this annual event. And a big thank you to Mannington for 25 consecutive years of supporting local student creativity and showcasing the importance of being drug-free. VETERANS DAY EARLY RELEASE REMINDER: On Monday, November 11, 2024, Calhoun City Schools will have an early release day to honor our veterans with a special Veterans Day Parade at 1:30 PM in downtown Calhoun. We invite everyone to join us as various student groups participate in this meaningful event to pay tribute to the brave men and women who have served our great nation. Please note that the after-school KEEP program will be closed on this day. We appreciate your continued support and understanding.
